RMS sharing application issue

For sharing files internally or external thro Azure AD you can use the nice component from the Enterprise Mobility Suite pack, called Azure Right Management Service. But somehow you can have some authentication trouble like I had today.

Issue: after installing Windows 10 build 1511 my Microsoft Right Management (RMS) sharing application won’t work anymore. It couldn’t authorize my Azure AD account:1

Solution: you have to clear the RMS client store in the registry what you can find here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\MSIPC

For the next try you want to protect some file you will be able to use the sharing application. First you have to sign in with your Azure AD credential:

Than you are able to choose a predefined RMS template what you authorized for:

You can find more settings for RMS Client Deployment Notes here.

Happy sharing, Ákos!
